Tests

All specimens must be in a container clearly marked with your name, date of birth, date provided and reason for the test.

Only samples in the correct container can be accepted. These are available from reception.

Failure to do so may mean your test will have to do the test again.

Getting your test results

If your test results show that you need more tests or treatment, we will contact you.

Once a doctor has reviewed your test results, you can view them:

  • in your NHS account (through the NHS website or NHS App)
  • phone us, after 10:30am Monday to Friday
    • Hawkinge Health Centre: 01303 232300
    • Elham Surgery: 01303 840213
  • visit us and we will tell you what the results are

It is your responsibility to check your results and to make an appointment to talk to doctor if you are told to do so.

Our reception team can tell you if the test is normal. They cannot talk through the results as they are not trained to do so.

You’ll need to contact your hospital consultant if they arranged the test.

Questions about your results

If you want to talk to someone about your results, fill in an online form and someone will be in touch.
